Randburg at a glance
Randburg is an area located in the north west of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. Formerly a separate municipality, its administration devolved to the newly created City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality, along with neighbouring Sandton and Roodepoort, in the late 1990s. During the transitional period of 1996-2000, Randburg was part of the Northern Metropolitan Local Council (MLC)
Randburg has a variety of different shopping centres available to its residents including Ferndale Village Shopping Centre, Cresta Mall, Northgate Mall and the Colony Shopping Centre to name a few. It’s easy to find whatever you need in Randburg.
There are many great schools in and around Randburg with one conviently close wherever you stay. Radley Private Schools, the King’s school, Sharonlea Primary, Randpark High and primary aswell as many more. Regardless of what grade or level there is a school for your children in Randburg.
Randburg has access to the Olivedale Hospital, HEALth-WorX, and the Johannesburg Eye Hospital. There are also many highly regarded general practitioners available to you and your family in Randburg.
What to do:
Randburg is always abuzz with activity and there is plenty of entertainment to be had. Northgate offers an ice rink, cinema and arcade. There is also the Brightwater commons currently under renovations which when completed will provide many restaurants and activities for the whole family. In the meantime however the adventure golf is still running and provides a fun way to spend an afternoon. Delta park is another way to spend time with its elaborate jungle gyms and dog friendly atmosphere.
